The 20-bore gun is missing the ornate 'Continental' look one might expect from a fourth-generation German gunmaker; instead, its elegant lines more closely resemble traditional British 'best' sidelock guns. One hundred percent German-made, the gun was developed to explore opportunities in the upper price segment for a Krieghoff game gun- a significant step for a company that has been a world leader in competition shotguns."

Since the introduction of Krieghoff's new side-by-side sidelock shotgun at the Vintage Cup World Side-by-Side Championship and Exhibition in mid-September 2003, the response has been overwhelmingly favorable. After winning a Silver Award in the category of New European Sidelock Guns at the Vintage Cup, the new shotgun was also awarded The Shooting Sportsman Magazine Award for "a contemporary custom-fitted game gun that best typifies the ideal for upland hunting".

Custom Leather Case The handsome dark brown Standard Leather case for the Essencia comes with a protective canvas cover and features a utility compartment, leather reinforced corners, two traditional key locks, and leather straps. It comes complete with 2 snap caps and is available for one or two barrel sets up to 30" in barrel length. The Krieghoff Side-by-Side Sidelock Shotgun's main attributes are very elegant lines combined with excellent handling and balance. The round body, clean lines and sleek, back-action sidelock contours stand out immediately. Each are hand-made and available on custom order only. There is a limited production rate of 10 per year.
