For many years, the manufacture and availability of high quality competition shotguns has been limited to several overseas gun makers. The discerning clay target shooter had few choices when looking to purchase a shotgun that would withstand the rigors of clay target shooting.
This is no longer the case!
Kolar Arms of Racine, Wisconsin introduced its quality line of American-made skeet, sporting and trap shotguns in 1995, after four years of extensive reseach and testing. Having won numerous World Skeet, National Sporting Clays and ATA Grand American titles, the Kolar shotgun has met their initial objective - to be a competitive force with the fine European shotgun manufacturers.
The introduction of the .750 Semi-Lite factory choked barrel on all models compliments the standard weight .740 bore barrel. Without question, both configurations are instrumental in making Kolar the softest shooting, best pointing gun available in the market today. With the introduction of the new ramp taper rib and expanded selection of factory stock configurations, Kolar continues to make its mark in the competitive shooting community.
From the initial concept of producing the gun, through its complete CAD design, prototype stage, and years of testing, the objective was singular. Produce the highest quality, ultimately reliable target shotgun that money can buy. The objective is assured by utilizing state-of-the-art CNC manufacturing and CMM quality assurance techniques.
The Kolar shotgun is available in skeet, trap, and sporting clays.
MAX TRAP
The Kolar Max Trap has a fixed rib barrel and may come as a 30" or 32" over/under barrel with 5 choke tubes. The Kolar Max Trap Combo is available in a 30"/34" or 32"/34", also with a fixed rib and features an unsingle barrel. All Max Trap stocks come standard with an adjustable comb and a hard case.
MAX TRAP ADJUSTABLE
The new Max Trap Adjustable (Max T/A), available with either 34” un-single or over-single and a 32” over/under, features a high ramp taper adjustable rib on all barrels. This feature affords the shooter the ability to precisely set point of impact for his/her needs and style. Point of impact can be set to over 100% on all barrels. The barrels on the Max T/A are semi-lite low recoiling .750 bore, with extra long forcing cones and factory choke tubes for maximum pattern efficiency. A weight kit is available to meet your specific balance requirements when choosing the over-single barrel.
Stocks are designed to promote a heads-up gun mount allowing for rapid unobstructed target acquisition. All stocks are fitted with a 6-way adjustable comb. The forend is an extended beaver tail design. Both stock and forend are cut from high quality English walnut. Adjustable combs are standard. Custom stock dimensions optional. The Max T/A is delivered in an Americase.
MAX T/S
The receiver and forend iron are CNC machined from a solid bar of 4140 chrome-moly steel that affords maximum strength to withstand the rigors of a lifetime of use. The receiver, with its full width hinge pin and massive locking bolt also serve to balance the gun and contribute to its extremely soft recoil characteristics. A unique ejector system allows for the ejection of spent shells, or it can be adjusted to lift only.
The trigger housing and mechanism are likewise CNC machined to afford absolute tolerances. The hammer and sears are precision EDM wired from hardened tool steel to maintain crisp, consistent trigger feel. Trigger weight is set at a nominal 3.5 lbs. An optional factory release is available.
The Kolar T/S features a completely adjustable 34” barrel of mid placement design. This affords superb pointability and minimal recoil. The barrel is available in either .740 standard weight or .750 semi-light, both fitted with screw-in chokes. The critical matter of point of impact is addressed with a rib hinged at the breech and muzzle. This feature assures precise, consistent P.O.I in all conditions. Ribs are of a ramp-taper design and are available to allow P.O.I. off 55% to 100% plus.
Stocks and forends on all Kolar T/S guns will be cut from English walnut. The forend is a beaver tail deign. Stocks are available in right or left-hand configurations and are fitted with an adjustable comb. The Kolar T/S is available in standard grade with engraved configurations to follow. All guns wills be supplied in an Americase airline case.
